It is important to us that coin collecting remains affordable. We always pursue this goal – including when setting prices.
You, our customers, can only remain satisfied if sales prices remain reasonable and transparent, allowing your collections to continue to grow.
Now, following the price of gold, the price of silver has also risen significantly and rapidly. This is why some coin issues now have to be priced higher for collectors than in the past. It is not uncommon for the value of the precious metal contained in the coins to have climbed above the set sales prices.
Clearly, we cannot offer coins below their current precious metal value. So how should we respond?
Some mints and countries are suspending the sale of such coins, while others are reducing the precious metal content to such an extent that silver coins now only contain a small amount of silver. Neither option is acceptable to us.
We therefore hope that you will agree with our decision:
The issue price set and announced by us will apply until the date of issue. We keep our word. If the current silver value rises above this price after that date, regardless of whether this happens earlier or later, the sales price will only be adjusted to the silver price from the following day. It is therefore important for you to keep an eye on the date of issue.
