Into the depths of the seas

With this 3-euro coin series, we are diving into the depths of the oceans. On the occasion of the UN Decade of Ocean Exploration, we invite you on a journey into the "Shining Ocean Worlds". The series consists of 12 coins, four of which are issued each year in a mintage of 65,000 each. Once again, one side of the coin plays with colors. You can be sure that our "Luminous Sea Worlds" series will not only light up the eyes of the beholder. A whole new effect awaits you.

As improbable and magical as the creatures may seem, they really do exist. Even though some of them live in the eternal darkness of the deep sea, where no ray of sunlight penetrates, they are anything but dark creatures: They flash, they sparkle and they glow. They change color when needed. And that's exactly what they do on the coins!
